Personal Goals
So as we go through this process I am reading a lot of stuff on how to start your own business. A lot of this stuff is coming from the book, “Start Your Own Business” by Rieva Lesonsky. As I blog ideas and my own personal goals on this blog I will include some of the questions that are listed throughout this book.
The following is a list of questions looking for your personal goals and what you want out of this business. reply in the comment section below with your answers to these questions if you get some time.
1. What is the most important reason for pursuing this business?
2. What do you think you will like best about this venture?
3. Within 5 years where do you want this company to be?
4. When you look back over the first 5 years how do you want to feel?
5. What is your financial condition as of today is?
6. What is the next thing you feel you need to do in this process?
7. The most important part of this business is (or will be)?
8. The area of business you really excel in is?
Now like a lot of these books these questions may seem a little contrived or even cheesey but the idea is to get you to say outloud what you already know about yourself and what you want but it also builds a foundation for what we are trying to build. If you have time answer the questions so that we can all see where we are at with our goals.

1. There are a lot of reasons why I want to build this business but the main thing is that I want to do something I love with the people I know I can trust. In that kind of atmosphere we can provide a faster, better and more competitive service than anyone else out there. And we can do it in the ways we work best.
2. Working with my friends. A lot of people say this is a greater risk than hiring new, and that may be. But in the end a lot of great ideas were nurtured by a close knit group of people who had the drive to do something better.
3. I want this company to be self sustaining. There is a lot of competition on the market but if we work hard and focus on our strengths I know we will corner our part of the market.
4. I want to feel proud of where we came from and what we have accomplished. I know if we can break through we can make this something that has the potential of being a household name.
5. I have personal debt like a majority of people but I’m not completely buried by it. I would like to dig out a little faster though.
6. I need to Decide what the name of this thing will be. Once that’s done we can incorporate and focus on the legal portion of the process.
7. Growing. Not just as a company but growing as individuals in our skillets and our lives.
8. The biggest asset I think I can provide is a lot of the business management, legal and technical support. I will be working on my design skills as we go forward which is why I will be leaving a majority of that work to Seth and Cari.
